Current Fundraising Efforts
While planning for a new home for CMSJ, we continue to touch the lives of many children each year through our ongoing programs, including the annual Kids Triathlon. Your donation allows us to continue to engage, educate, and inspire children to get involved by bringing innovative programming into the community.
In addition, current needs continue to be seed funding for start-up costs such as tax filings and fees, development and printing of marketing tools, mailings, and other administrative costs. Seed funding also helps the CMSJ team further develop our traveling exhibits.
Individuals, families or companies may donate to CMSJ in a number of ways, including:
- Gifts of Cash
- Corporate Matching Contributions
- Restricted/Unrestricted Gifts
- Planned Gifts and Bequests

Future Capital Campaign
When we have identified a site for our permanent location, CMSJ’s Board of Directors will launch a capital campaign to make the museum become a reality. We expect a site to be determined in 2011 and will then begin raising money for building renovations or construction, exhibit sponsorships, memberships, and professional staffing. Our research shows that it will take an estimated $3-5 million to open the doors of the Children’s Museum of St. Johns.
Naming opportunities will be available throughout the museum to recognize philanthropic support. Donors may wish to associate their name or that of a loved one with specific exhibits, rooms within the museum, or even with the museum as a whole.
If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or would like more information about giving opportunities, please contact Susan Connor, Executive Director, at info@explorecmsj.org.
